The winter months can be the hardest without actual motorsport. But at least we have the sounds of testing to hold us over.
Above is a with its mid-engine setup and DTM-style wing. This particular Prius is powered by a 3.4-liter naturally aspirated V8. And it sounds glorious. In race form, the horsepower numbers come in close to 500 hp and it has to be the best styled Prius to date.
The Prius Super GT is developed to compete in Japan’s Super GT series, specifically the GT300 class. Lexus represents Toyota in the top GT500 class since the elimination of the Supra. It is safe to assume that Toyota will be re-entering the top class with the rebirth of the new Supra next year. We hope.
While we’ll never see anything this great in a Prius road car, we can hope for a TRD version on par with the Avalon and Camry TRD’s from early this year.
