Truck Thursday: 1989 Dodge Ramcharger 4×4

So, a weekend or so ago, while UDMan was out enjoying the last vestiges of summer with his version of blue aqua up in the northeastern part of the great nation I call home, this olelongrooffan was headed up to the home of the “Beef People” to take advantage of that location they have next door which offered a blue Skye at a great discount, so long as I can remember my telephone number.  As I pulled my xBenz into that parking slot far removed from the entrance, to avoid the resulting pedestrian traffic, this old RamCharger was spotted and I knew it needed to be shared with my fellow Hoons. Click on through should you desire.

An After Hours Visit To The Specialized Auto Garage On Old Dixie Highway

LongRoofian September 24, 2013 All Things Hoon, Nostalgia

Well, my fellow Hoons, this olelongrooffan stumbled upon another, what I think is a pretty sweet, automotive facility here in toney Palm Beach, Florida. I mean, if the sight of this menagerie of vehicles in one location wouldn’t cause every Hoon to slow down and take a second look, this olelongrooffan doesn’t know what grouping of vehicles would. And if my fellow Hoons don’t mind if this olelongrooffan takes a moment to stop and “walk around” and “see some cool stuff” I saw that day, don’t hesitate to make the jump.

A Visit To Ragtops Motorcars: The Outside Lot

LongRoofian September 11, 2013 All Things Hoon

Down here in hot and humid sunny and pleasant southeast Florida there are tons of car lots offering vehicles such as those seen above. Now this olelongrooffan could successfully retire sharing all of them with my fellow Hoons, but to me, cars such as those seen in the above image? Meh.

Fastback Friday: V.I.S.I.T.: Nissan GT-R

Recently while cruising north on Eisenhower’s Highway System, this olelongrooffan eased up to this Nissan GT-R. It was the first one I had ever seen and I found it to be pretty tasty, even though the roof isn’t long enough.

Truck Thursday: V.I.S.I.T: Identify This Beast

So, by now my fellow Hoons know this olelongrooffan speeds up and down Eisenhower’s Highway System visiting construction sites scattered all around the Sunshine State to check on the openings provided by our builders as well as the installation of our stairs and rails themselves. Last week, this olelongrooffan had a relatively light driving schedule, only 597 miles. It was okay as I needed to do a bit of body work on my xBenz. However, I did have one day I needed to do a road trip. Driving the two hours up to Vero Beach on Florida’s Highway 9, this olelongrooffan spotted this beast going to a new home and resting comfortably on that flatbed for the ride. I am still scratching my head trying to figure out what it will eventually become. Due to its low cab height I am thinking possibly a crane chassis of some sort? But it doesn’t appear to be “beefy” enough for that use. What to my fellow Hoons think?

Truck Thursday: Long Shots: One Of Peter Pirsch And His Boy’s Fire Trucks

A whiles back when this olelongrooffan was cruising home from the other coast, out on Highway 66, I spotted the sign for the J & S Fish Camp on the northern shores of Lake Ockeechobee. As is often the case with my Long Shots series, I’ll spot one of a particular vehicle and then within a short time, this olelongrooffan will see another one or two.

Wagon Wednesday: 1968 American Motors Corporation Ambassador Cross Country

So this olelongrooffan travels all over the Sunshine State to scrape up a Benjamin or two to send over to TheSmartOne, now a sophomore at the college that is New over in the home of the Ringling Brother’s Museum. In doing so, this olelongrooffan is lucky enough to see some pretty cool and rare stuff, at least to me. A certain GMC motorhome salvage yard comes to mind. Well, my fellow Hoons, less than 5 blocks from my Miami style bungalow, there is a place I spotted that won’t soon be forgetten. And at that long to be remembered place they have this special longroof for sale.

V.I.S.I.T.: The Undercover Baby SUV

Even though this olelongrooffan has a new fangled Iphone with the ability to capture images contained somewhere within its confines, I am more comfortable using a point and shoot that I acquired a whiles back after my elcheapoebayacquired image taker bit the dust. And why keep that point and shoot on the console just beneath the emergency brake lever in my xBenz? For this reason alone.

V.I.S.I.T: 2014 Jeep Cherokee Testing

So this olelongrooffan has shared with my fellow Hoons that I travel across the Sunshine State on a weekly basis. Last Friday, I had to head over to Ave Maria, the town that in the middle of the Everglades to measure the opening for a set of stairs in a home we had not previously installed in. Luckily the builder was ready for us, although they had the wrong opening, it was oversized so we were good and another four hour round trip road trip was not necessary for this olelongrooffan.

Hoon Tales: Updating My Newish xBox minilongroof

LongRoofian September 2, 2013 All Things Hoon

So this olelongrooffan has previously shared with my fellow Hoons that these days I am sporting around in a 2006 Scion xB. It is alternately referred to as my xBox or my minilongroof.  When this vehicle initially came into my possession, it had seen some better days. The front end was covered with the remains of formerly free flying insects and their guts had even penetrated the paint on my xBox’s front bonnet. Additionally,
