What’s Your Automotive News for the Week?

Greg Kachadurian October 13, 2017 The News!

Hi. On a normal week this time slot is filled with a hastily-written recap of the week’s automotive news. Sadly, this is not a normal week for your friendly internet news editor. I started a new job which, at least for now, has made all my free time disappear. That was made worse by the fact that… uh, not much happened that was worth talking about.

If you’re still looking for some reading material, you can check out Autoweek’s coverage of the , , and something about that you’ve surely seen by now.

Things should stabilize again next week, but in the meantime sound off with any updates you want to share with your fellow hoons. Doesn’t matter if you saw anything, fixed something, broke everything (we especially wanna hear about that), or otherwise did anything even remotely car related – it belongs here.

Redusernab Reviews the Pioneer Ford F-150 Lightning Tribute

Greg Kachadurian September 19, 2017 Featured, Reviews

Robby Winiarczyk, General Manager of Pioneer Ford in Bremen, Georgia, always loved the F-150 Lightning that Ford’s Special Vehicle Team built from 1999 to 2004. It’s been a long thirteen years since it’s been gone and there’s no sign of it coming back in any official form, but they had an idea to revive it in their own way – with a 650-horsepower tribute.

They only first showed the F-150 Lightning Tribute to the world last Wednesday but it’s already sent the internet into a frenzy. Over a million people saw their initial Facebook post and our early coverage of it became one of the most popular articles in this site’s history. And yet there I was, less than a week after its introduction, doing donuts with it in an empty airport.

That’s right, this weird little website of ours got to drive it first. If hilarious amounts of tire-shredding power in unlikely packages is of interest to you, keep reading.

Disclaimer: I reached out to Pioneer Ford after the story broke and was invited to come and drive the Lightning tribute. Because of my close proximity to them, I got to do it first. My hour drive was rewarded with the opportunity to do silly things with a 650-hp truck.

Ruining Tires with the Ford F-150 Lightning Tribute

Greg Kachadurian September 19, 2017 All Things Hoon

Sometimes it pays to live in Georgia. When news broke out about a 650-horsepower F-150 Lightning tribute package built by Pioneer Ford in Bremen, GA, emails were sent almost immediately. They were kind enough to not only invite me out to snap pictures and drive it before anyone else, they also rented out a small section of West Georgia Regional Airport for us to conduct very scientific tests. The above video shows my carefully crafted experiments ranging from brake stands to donuts.

Stay tuned later today for a full review on this very special truck.
