Last Call: Long Wheel Base Edition

Kamil Kaluski January 25, 2018 Last Call 17 Comments

Before pickup trucks were available with every luxury option and feature car gods ever created, those wanting a luxury pickup had to improvise.

Last Call indicates the end of Redusernab’s broadcast day.  It’s meant to be an open forum for anyone and anything. Thread jacking is not only accepted, it’s encouraged.

That kind of result is tougher to achieve when all you’ve got are a couple of heat wrenches, unlike the Frankenstein featured above.

        A couple of railway rails???

Or, on the same basis, the quite (relatively) common conversions on the same base as the lead image…

What just about everything from Mansory looks like to me.

      I forgot to call “FIRST!”.

    • When I see something, I throw it up when I can. It’s not permanent like it used to be. Hoon Asks is the same way, we don’t think of questions but when we have them we ask.

Some of those were actually built professionally by a company called Long Ranger 4×4

A long Range Rover towing a short one.

What is the most depressing automotive thing you’ve ever seen? I saw mine this weekend. an old ’80’s motorhome, big sucker, dual axles in the back, but at least two wheels were missing and it had a notable list to one side. There was a growth of mold covering most of it and disjointed window coverings all around. If that thing was kept water out of the interior, I’d be as shocked as whoever attempted to crawl under its dash. It was rolling desperation, or at least it was rolling recently enough for the Walmart it was parked in front of to not have gotten around to having it towed yet.

      Cousin Eddie’s tenement on wheels?

        Yes, without the humor.
