Redusernab Asks: Are You Ready for Another Project Car SOTU?!

Jeff Glucker July 25, 2016 Redusernab Asks, Project Car SOTU 18 Comments

HoonTruck burnout

It’s that time of year again! Well, I guess it is – there’s isn’t a set time of year for our Project Car State of the Union, but that’s where we are today. If you like this day, then I’ve got some good news for you. We’re making it a full week.

Say hello to Project Car SOTU Week 2016. Each day we’ll filter in project car updates for all of our various machines, and the stories will run in between some of your regularly scheduled content (The News, Podcasts, etc).

So… this isn’t much of a Redusernab Asks, it’s more of an excuse to prime the pump for a week of project car goodness (and badness… mostly badness).

Here’s a question for you. Which vehicles are you looking to hear about?

Don’t say Wombat.Don’t say Wombat.Don’t say Wombat.Don’t say Wombat.

  • fede

    won’t say wombat!

there was a 240z? or 260? also curious about chris’ audi and rover, and tim’s falcon.

but any update about any project car is good in my book!

  • kogashiwa

    Wombat!

  • Frank T. Cat

Just lay them all on us. Allofthem.

    (especially wombat)

And give us a place to gush and whine about our own.

    • Jeff Glucker

That is a brilliant idea. Stand by for more on that.
Though, I mean… we do still have the forums, sort of. -ish.

(I know you know that, you’re one of the few still using them)

      • No, nobody’s still using it because IT’S BEEN BROKEN FOREVER!

        • Jeff Glucker

Yeah I don’t think we have the bandwidth at the moment to fix it, or something changed at the forum creator level.

We’ll have to research a replacement forum, I think. Which would suck.

  • Monkey10is

I want to know if Rusty’s wife’s Peugeot hatch still has duck-tape detailing?

  • Ross Ballot

  • NeedsFuelPump

    Lil’ Lightning!

  • karonetwentyc

If anyone’s interested, I’ll volunteer my current project. It’s a 1983 Peugeot 505 that was parked for close to three years before we got it.

It is a running project, so not a total basket case resurrection – but it’s also a 1983 Peugeot 505, which means that it’s going to have all sorts of nifty surprises (read: problems) waiting to be discovered as I go through it. This is being borne out by experience with it thus far.

    Womba…er…Hoontruck!

    Also, Mr. Emslie’s Z car.

  • 1977ChevyTruck

    Justy! Justy! Justy!

For some reason I just love hearing about the work done to preseverve an almost extinct non-valuable car.

Also, I’m looking forward to seeing the official introduction of Brad’s new project, since it looks like a neat little hellhole.

    • Alan Cesar

I’m astounded that someone has as much enthusiasm as I do for that unloved little shitpile. You put a smile on my face, sir.

I think the Justy update is scheduled for today.

      • 1977ChevyTruck

Ah, but isn’t it worth it when you consider all the fame and admiration you and car garner on the interwebs?

  • Jeff Glucker

By the way, there will be a Wombat post this week… It might not have anything in it, but I’ll post something.

  • 0A5599

The 300TD getting a Gen III Hemi.

  • cap’n fast

so, i had been informed by the doctor that she would appreciate it if i stood down from motorcycle riding forever.(doesn’t want all her good work to go to waste). traded for a 98 mark 8….do not care who got the better part of the deal. some thing about a coupe with a decent v-8, working the suspension and then-supercharger!

  • CraigSu

I’m guessing all of the smoke coming out of the Hoontruck exhaust is fodder for a future SOTU update.
