Truck Thursday: V.I.S.I.T.: An O.J. Front Centurion From The Hills

Earlier this week, this olelongrooffan was returning to Bus_Plunge’s B’s Nest cabin down near the shores of Lake TaneyCoMo. As I was cruising down that Eisenhour Interstate Highway System like US 65, I spotted what looked like a Ford Bronco with the rear top removed.

It wasn’t until I pulled my longerroof out into the passing lane that I noticed this Bronco had four doors. “Centurion!,” I actually said out loud. As getting back to the lake in a rush wasn’t necessary, this olelongrooffan decided to head back over to the slow lane and see where this rarity was headed. I hadn’t seen one in the flesh, so to speak, in years and hadn’t see any info on one since fellow Hoon, Marcal, posted this a few months ago.

By the way, my apologies to my fellow Hoons for the lack of clarity of the above two images. I took them with my old 28dollarebayacquired image taker I keep in the pocket of my longerroof for use in an occassion such as this.

So we meandered down 65 and just before the left turn median cut for the entrance to , this rare old beast got in the turn left lane and headed on down that hill to the parking lot.

This olelongrooffan is confident it is needless to confide with my fellow Hoons that I directed my longerroof to do exactly the same thing.

As pulled up and stopped, I noticed there was a young dude and his girl in the front seats of that Centurion. As this olelongrooffan approached the driver’s side door, I noticed that dude looking at me quite warily. However, once I asked, “Is this a Centurion?” his whole attitude lightened up and he glowed as he said, “It sure is.”

We got to chatting it up about his and Centurions in general. In between ejaculations of Skoal spit into a plastic bottle, he revealed he had purchased it up in for $800.00.

I mentioned that was a pretty good deal on such a rare truck. “Yeah, I’d never seen or heard of one before,” he said around the top of that bottle. I asked if he got online much, planning on sharing All Things Hoon with him. “I ain’t been online in years,” thus negating the need to share Redusernab with him.

After gaining his approval to gather up these images, that dude and his girl headed down that path arm in arm to do whatever folk from the hills do there at that Wildlife Area.

Me? I just noted the double muffler system, the inherent cancer consuming this ride and recollected this ride had the same steering wheel as Casper, my own OJ front 150 in white with 350,000 miles on it.

That one was rust free though. And this olelongrooffan has never had a dip of snuff in my long lifetime.

The Centurion’s I thought of don’t have doors at all.

I was thinking of one with hatches.

OLRF, I found the vehicle for you, in the Keystone State:

    • longrooffan

Saw that as well. It certainly is sweet.

Kickstarter for a carspotting business? I’ll chime in a handful or two.

I’ve never seen a Centurion with the roof off. Those were handsome if pricey beasts. The first time I ever saw one was at a mining equipment exposition in Elko, Nevada.

We had one of those Centurion… 4 door Ford pickup. Centurion Cabriolet. There is a website for the cult also. By now, most of them are rusting out.
