There are so many questions when it comes to this car, it is kind of hard to know where to start. Like the Brown and Black Paint Job… And the Blue Seats (that look OK in almost anything else but a BMW)… and why is there a CB Radio mounted on the console?… But it is a solid 2002 that you could bring back to stock if you wanted to, right? Right?? Asking price for this wonky BMW is $5,750, which seems to be a pile of cash for this type of car, but what do I know? , and tell me what you think about it…

Cafe racer? Racer on the outside, hy cafe on the inside… not original, imo, just as the plaid center console, but what do I know.
Looks like the leftovers of several more successful projects, but if the mechanics are sound, a good start.

Edit: Look downstairs for Rover_1's explanation of the plaid, doh.

    • Rover_1

      Aw shucks. Thanks.

  • Night Traveller

I see the seller has "10" on the door. I give a solid "6"…Those blue seats must be from a different car, just not quite right.

Actually compared to some of the vehicles that grace this web page with a asking price of 5 grand, this seems like a steal. We used to have one driving around years ago with a similar exterior treatment, but painted in a zebra stripe paint job and it was actually pretty dang cool.

  • StumptownPaul

Can you spare a half hour to align that door?

    • B72

They couldn't bother to shut the trunk. It's a wonder they even closed that door.

Can I offer another Weekend Edition Quick Hit, please? PLEEZE? Thanks! …

    • Rover_1

$ One and a quarter million? Wow.

      <img src=";

  • B72

Needs more amber side marker lights.

  • Rover_1

Maybe the centre-console covering is a subtle 'go-faster' tweak to reinforce all the stickers on the windows.

It seems to be 'John Candy Reference Day"

Excellent, missed that – I was more like uh, not original. Now I'm more like ah, excellent joke above my head!

  • Manic_King

Those blue Celica (or other Jap. car) seats have to go, same with the junkyard floormats, silver speaker grilles, CB radio and that homebrew center-console. Oh, and it needs new (black?) paint as FL corner is clearly different brown than the rest of the car and rattle can black is ugly, too. In goes black Recaros, Nardi/Momo/similar steering wheel and Euro rear bumper.

  • craigsu

I could live with the paint for awhile if the mechanicals and bodywork are sound. This is a good price even for a non-roundie. It's also here in town. Good thing I don't have $5750 in discretionary income lying around or I'd be making a phone call.

Edit: Looking closer at the photos in the listing reveals rust spots at the base of the windshield so a PPI with my local BMW shop would be a must. I also noticed he's zip-tied a Red Bull can next to the radiator to use as an overflow container for the coolant. Not sure if that's ingenious or lazy.

  • mr smee

Needs more appropo seats, more "rallye-racer" in the looks, ditch the wimpy fogs for two more huge Hellas, roll cage

  • zetep

Holy, they totally killed that interior.
Still, for 2 grand less it would be a nice project.

  • SSurfer321

    So many driving lights!
