Welcome to the Redusernab Classic Captions Post, and it’s that time of the week in which this feature appears, so let’s review the premise; I search for images that were used by the car companies in their print advertising or brochures, and it is your job to provide a humorous caption that is some how tied in with the image. This week we take a look at a Lincoln Town Car in a setting that is void of anything interesting…

1987-Ninja250-Ad

Last time, we had an image of a Motorcycle at a local diner, and the participation rate was nothing to write home about, but hope springs eternal… It was rather difficult to score a winner and a runner-up this week, as the top vote receivers were all commenting on the Rock Store Diner that was used as a backdrop for the Ninja Ad. As such, I am going to try and award both a winner and a runner-up from comments other than the ones dealing with this location. So, the runner-up belonged to Batshitbox (Yes, again!) and it went like this: “In a near total reversal of typical plot lines, Starfleet Chief Engineer Apex Hunter makes first with a planet full of male models..” Very funny, but there was one caption that was just a bit better…

And the winning comment was from mkep819, and his caption went like this: “Boy Bands & Bikes never quite caught on as big as Cars & Coffee.” To everyone who participated, this was my personal favorite this week, so congratulations mkep819 on winning this edition of the Redusernab Classic Captions Contest…

It’s now time to take a look at this weeks entry, and I reached back into the toy box that is Alden Jewell’s Flickr Account, and retrieved this Lincoln Continental Town Car image from 1978. The setting is very puzzling, but I will try and describe it. I think the photographer was trying to portray a group of people leaving a theater, but the actual setting looks like a business park, or an incomplete shopping center. As far as the people, they seemed to be dressed for all occasions… So let’s try and see what they are dressed for (I’ll leave that up to you). There also seems to be only one car for all of these people, and I’m sure that as big as this Lincoln is, you’re not going to get that many people inside of it. So what do you think the vision of this Photo Shoot was, and isit really a good image to use to highlight the Town Car?

You have the next five days to come up with a great caption. The editors will deliberate on the merits of each entry, and after contemplating our own caption (I wonder where all the other cars are…), we will pronounce a winner. So, get to work and create you’re own caption for this interesting image.

Good job, mkep819, on your winning caption. Your prize is this Kawasaki as shown by this young lady who knows nothing about riding a motorcycle.

    • FЯeeMan

knows nothing about riding a motorcycle, but is about to be schooled in being run over by an APC.

      • $kaycog

Ha! I didn't even notice that.

    • Irishzombieman☆

Nicely done, mkep819! Congrats, and enjoy this fine red beer!

"Everyone enjoys cocaine, but not as much as they'll enjoy the new Lincoln Continental for 1978."

Demand for Uber's original black car service was higher than expected on Opening Night.

    • Rover_1

So high, that they ran out of black carsand had to use dark green ones as well.

  • skitter

    Bigger car. Bigger clowns.

    • I'm sensing some Town – Clown rivalry here.

Lincoln Continental Town Car: Actually a Limo

  • GTXcellent

Well you can tell by the way I use my walk, I'm a woman's man: and another woman's man, and a man's man, and an old ladies' man, and some teenager's man, and a married couple's man. No time to talk. How am I stayin' aliiiiiiiiiivvvvvve? Stayin' alive.

    Pimpin' ain't easy.

The jury's out: Are you old enough to go to Town?

  • $kaycog

"Hurry and get in, Nancy! These people can catch the next boat."

Lincoln Center, Lincoln Town Car, almost the same amount of seating.

    • FЯeeMan

Oh, and it's 1978, so they're all wearing formal attire, proper for the theater

      • Vairship

But wasn't that theater owned by Ford? And didn't that end rather badly for Lincoln? I guess rumors of Lincoln's demise have NOT been greatly exaggerated…

Aaaand I see smalleyxb122 was way ahead of me….

  • Skink

That Starfleet Headquarters set tour was very impressive, said no one.

  • gessvt

Bryce and Tina nonchalantly fished their keys out of the bowl and made a hasty exit.

  • wunno sev

"This theater is kinda half-assed and overhyped. At least we can rely on Lincoln to never ever make anything like that ever."

  • smalleyxb122

Taking a Lincoln to the theater? This will not end well.

    • wunno sev

      too soon

      • wunno sev

        (you win, though)

On this episode of Betty White's Off Their Rockers…

  • Jim had no qualms driving over the sidewalk and parking inappropriately in the front courtyard, after all, this was the 1978 Continental.

As it happened, a scant three years later, Jim was back at his mom's house and his car parked inappropriately and permanently in the front yard. It was, after all, a 1978 Continental…

"Listen I get it Nancy, it's not the most fuel efficient car on the road, but what do you think this is 1973? Come on it's 1978, We're past that now. Gas should be affordable for years now. Iran has our back and we have theirs."

  • Fearing the hideousness of the crowd that was about to engulf him, nervous Lincoln sat quietly with his eyes closed.

  • paulz67

Everybody in line, there's room for all of you!

  • Steve: "My love for you is as big as this car!"
Rhonda: "Unlike that other thing that you ask me to help you hand-wash…"
    Crowd: "BURN!"

  • Fuhrman16

No one seemed that startled that Aunt Mae once again parked her Lincoln inside the airport.

  • John Young

"Mary, the symphony was wonderful, but we've got Quadrasonic Sound, champagne and brie in the backseat, and the hot-tub in the trunk is fantastic! Lets run out to the Point and finish this evening in style!"

  • bmurray390

I'm pretty sure that is Hart Plaza, right next door to the Renaissance Center in Detroit.

  • jeepjunkie

"Quick, while Grandmamma and Mommy are distracted, let's jump in here for a quickie."

Or, "Step in here and I will show how big of an engine I got under my hood."

  • Sam

"The City of Flint hosts the Jail House Rock Charity Ball for the grand opening of the new prison. For $100 per person*, you get to experience a night behind bars and also catch a glimpse of what a soon-to-be-fired & future-real-inmate of the prison built with orders from management.

    *T&C : Socialites only"

PLEASE NOTE: No offences to auto workers, just recapping what I saw in "Roger and ME"

  • name

That's a plain Continental not a Town Car equipped model. Note the lack of a Town Car script behind the front wheel.
