Continuing on with our Weekend Edition, and here is a special 1957 Chevrolet Wagon that I found over at the , and it elicits the type of commentary that is overly distinctive. This is the type of car that can bring out the lust in you, or it can light the disgust trigger in you, as it’s a car that you really can’t ignore. So how do you feel about it?

The Craigslist Listing is very short, and to the point:

1957 CHEVY 4 DOOR WAGON ONE OF THE LAST GREAT CAR, THIS CAR HAS A CLEAR TITLE AND IS ON A NON-OP, IT HAS A 350 MOTOR THAT RUNS PLUS A 350 TRANS WITH A FLOOR SHIFT, THIS IS A PROJECT CAR. NO TEXT.

This is a very cool car located appropriately enough in Cool California. Te asking price for this PMY Wagon is $4,750, which isn’t really all that bad for what you get. Personally, I think the trailer with the winch is worth more, but I digress… , or if the add disappears, .

    I need a trailer like that !

  • I kinda dig the missing grille look. Very hungry.

Here's a 2 door wagon I found, a lot more work to be done, but hey, that lack of two extra doors drives the price up to $12,500!

I fail to see any real problem with the colour. I also dig it – for the most part, the wagons have missed out on the Cruise Night Cliche status of the rest of the tri-five Chevys, and the ratty condition helps that out. I'd leave it pretty much as is, just ensuring the body doesn't start rusting, maybe swap in a more modern engine so it can at least break 20mpg without hypermiling, and call it a day.

Robins egg blue with chrome smoothies!

  • 2 doors 2 many…

oh, wait, he said no text(speak)

It's not an uncommon color for '57 Chevy street rods.

  • 30 minutes left on this running/driving 4WD '68 IH Travelall and it's less than $3500

POW! Coulda' been yours for $3650.63

Don't fret! There's still almost a day to go on this '66 2WD (with enough parts to make a 4WD conversion feasible) out by Bakersfield, CA that apparently won't back down from a Death Valley Dare…

BTW, '57 Chevy PMY Wagon listing deleted.

Way to 'Scout' out a good deal.

  • Prince Halibrand

PMY is only inappropriate for the married guys.
And I personally go for the four doors over two.

  • Synchromesh

I think it's cool for the price. Some fixing and patching and painting and you got a cool wagon for cheap moneys.

  • joshwebster84

Welp, it needs to be painted anyway. Maybe that horrible color is helping keep the price down, so God bless it.

Seems like a pretty good deal. The Bel Air is what I always think of when I think of a hot rod. It is the proto hot rod as far as I am concerned. My dad was working on restoring one when I was a wee lad. I spent many many hours pretending to drive it.

I now own this 57 wagon and would love to share updates on it.
